Typography-2017
Typography focused on the use of test and fonts in creating a visually appealing design. Projects consisted of many parts, one building off of another, to create the final design. Topics included letterforms, kerning, designs based just on words, hierarchy, creating booklet layouts, and the creation of a modular typeface and poster. All designs were created using Adobe Illustrator or InDesign.

Digital Media-2016
The Digital Media course at Drake University focused on giving an overview of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Each assignment focused on a skill in each program and continued building on past skills learned. Our final project was a portfolio/magazine of all of our work during the semester paired with how we executed and fulfilled the requirements, why we made the design choices we did, and how we may change the design in the future.

Visual Communications-2015

For my Introduction to Visual Communications course at Drake University, I worked on many different design projects as well as improved my Photoshop and InDesign skills. One project was to create a four-page magazine spread (Delta Gram). For my final, I created a travel Jamaica magazine which highlighted my ability to use the principles of design.

Jamaica-2015
During my J-Term course at Hamline University, I traveled to Jamaica to study biology and art. It was an incredible experience and was able to learn about the connections between biology (nature) and art. The views were breathtaking. Color, light, and texture were emphasized in my photos.

Graveyard "Eyes Open"-2013
Explored how people are remembered after death. In pondering the value of life one must ask: Is one's grave maker indicative of that person's life? Is an individual more important because their grave marker is larger? What does it say about that person if their grave marker is broken?

Sketchbook
A collection of the work I have done in my sketchbook. They reflect my thoughts, fears, joys, and dreams. They give some insight into who I am and how I view the world around me. This work is very personal. As Brené Brown said, "Vulnerability is not about fear and grief and disappointment. It is the birthplace of everything we're hungry for".
